So Yes to a carbon fiber hood, Yes it should have gotten the S designated engine and Yes to ceramic brakes. However, weight reduction is new to M models as previous generation Ms were heavier than the non M versions.
A lot of 1st generation 1M owners would know what prospective M2 owners are going through and whilst a lot of us were not fully satisfied with the 1M specs initially, we were fully converted with the actual performance and most importantly, behaviour of the car itself. As long as it loses some weight, it really doesn't matter how M Division turns out the M2... as long as it's a M Division product, it should be a monster with or without S55 IMO.
