The paint quality you reference is most likely resulting from EU standardization of water-based paints, zero-emission VOC, etc., that's plaguing other EU car manufacturers, not just BMW.
That's why next week I'll PPF the full front, rocker panels and rear wheel arch. I'm keeping this baby M for a while.
