I spun my 135i around a turn, in 35 degree weather, on newish summer tires (PSS), many winters ago and learned my lesson ever since.
I had figure although I was using summer tires in the winter, they were fairly new, with a lot of tread on them, so 'logically' they should of been acceptable for winter traction. I was wrong.
Live and learn.. Winter tires are not just for snow; invest in the proper seasonal tires..

Absolutely man! This happened at 35-40 MPH. I remember trying to recover the car after spinning around but i felt like i was ice skating.

On public roads it's better to keep the M car revvs less than 5K rpm. Anything more can get the wheels spinning and you never know.
