1M and M3 E92 had the same wheels and tyre sizes so the line about keeping the M2 below the M3/4 doesn't gel. The power and torque argument doesn't work either, the 1M had less of both than the M2 and had the same combo, and, let's just say, was a bit tail happy. So larger tyres would be potentially useful on the 2.
