Going from the 440i MPPSK to my M2 Comp in the same conditions/commute I used to get 25 mpg in the 440i, now I get 23 mpg. I don't think the fuel economy is too bad, it's mostly the small gas tank. I used to be able to go 3 weeks without filling (~340 miles) now I can only do two (~230 miles).
