I just checked and both of the outgoing generations of video game consoles have working mod chips (with some caveats) and they're 7 years old.
So based on a separate but similar community I'd say odds are good but timeline is not immediate.

The thing about that is it's easier to get access to a $500 ps5 for 9 months to do dev. Getting a m2c for an indefinite period of time is harder.
