I'd stick to msrp. As you mentioned, through attrition you're now #1, guaranteed, more attrition to follow especially if they tell people they want over msrp. Remember there is no guarantee that the dealer will get #2, 3, 4 or 5 in line to pay above msrp as well.
If they insist on selling it above msrp, politely inform them that you'd like to remain #1 on there list until there is no one willing to pay above msrp. I have a feeling that you'll win this chicken duel fairly quickly.
