My 2 cents is that the c8 is going to be brilliant if your daily drive allows you to utilize it's strengths. If you are driving in town it may not be any more fun than driving a Honda Accord when going beyond the looks. Obviously the moments when you get to turn it up a bit are rewarding. The c8 was on my list with the M2CS. I spend most of my time in town and want something a little less refined/planted than a c8 or 911. I want the low speed thrills to be available. A manual box really helps with that, but have to take your lumps during stop and go traffic. I also wouldn't get a c8 until the flatplane motor is available. The exhaust note will really make it worthwhile.
My reference is my 17 ftype svr. There are days when I think a stick shift G70 or Accord would be more fun.
