You don’t HAVE to do that. The inlet does increase power (not really measurable on MHD and load based tunes) and the boost pipe (I assume you mean turbo to the intercooler) isn’t really a failure point.
The chargepipe, intercooler and downpipe are more important. If you have those, you’re ok.
