Took it into the dealer, with my video in hand of it closing on its own. We fired up the car, opened the valve, it shut off after a minute or 2 with the BMW service guys stood there. I gotta take the car in on Wednesday so they can look at it further. They're gonna open a case with BMW.
Interestingly, shortly after leaving the dealership, they called asking if I had wireless charging in the car, so I suspect their initial thought is that its interference, though I told them, my wife's JCW also has wireless charging and a new BT module was able to resolve the issue in the JCW.
