With bimmerlink, you have to keep the obd adapter plugged in and have the app running. That's my understanding, anyway. So that requires opening the app each time you get in the car, right?

I can't effectively explain the difference between BimmerLink and BimmerCode, but with regards to the "sound tuning" (burbles) setting, you do not need to open BimmerLink every time you drive your car. I've been in the BimmerLink beta since August, and haven't had to open BimmerLink to disable sound tuning since initially turning that setting off.
