I wouldn’t pursue it. Autocross is sort of like being an expert at beating someone to a parking space. Not sure what you call them in the US but supersprints are the one to go for. Timed laps without door to door racing. Just go in with the attitude that you are out to have fun and improve on your own times and technique and it is joyous and very safe. Never get competitive with others. It leads to a hole in your wallet and a crap car road car. I may know this from experience.
