That’s one of my biggest fears when it comes to modding and my car only has 4K miles on it as well.

Question is: will BMW investigate if he had mods or just go ahead and fix it without a hassle? If they void his warranty, it could be a very expensive out of pocket repair bill.

I suppose at the end of the day, modding is simply a risk we all take when it comes to warranty and also the crank hub issue might have happened to him at some point regardless. Since it has happened to stock cars as well, it’s unclear whether mods accelerate the process or not. But if they find out, I’m sure BMW will try to void the warranty to avoid paying for it.
