One of Tire Rack's engineers got back to me on the spacer issue today. I was incorrect in recommending 10-15mm spacer.
He assured me a 5mm spacer is all that would be needed to clear a 275/35/18. Sorry for my mistake in the previous message.

Also, if anyone is looking to swap to a stud kit, we do carry the proper kit:
Black lugs - http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...B&ID=209&a=FW5
or
Polar light lugs - http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...5&ID=210&a=FW5

* Note – because of the M14 thread, the nuts now have a 19mm head and requires a 19mm socket.
Cannot do a 17mm socket on M14 thread.
** BMW switched to M14 hardware for a reason => clamping force.
*** All of the our Tire Rack test cars have this stud kit on them.

Please let me know if I can help further.
Thanks!!
