Yeah, it seems like just another case of BMW Canada deciding to get on the "special edition" train by bundling up a bunch of add-on bits and charging a huge premium. The dealers seem to love to do this with cars they have sitting on the lot, if someone backs out and they can't find a buyer then the dealership adds a bunch of M Performance parts and charge high prices. At least with the US Performance Edition they offered things which weren't available outside the special edition (e.g. manual seats, manual climate control, etc).

I think it's just a way for the dealers to get around the rules about not charging over MSRP, by adding on the bits they can charge high prices and labour to pad the margins.

I wonder how many people there are actually buying lots of these parts and paying MSRP? I personally wouldn't want all the bits included in this package and definitely wouldn't want to pay that much for the whole set.
