I literally hate wiring but once I got my head around it, it was very straight forward

Yes you loose a heater vent but having temps displayed is much more important to me, has a lot more features but I'm yet to explore them.
Going back to glazing over my pads, cleaned them up with a belt sander but I do need to up my braking cooling to stop that happening again.
