788M is better than all previous comp wheels. They at least made it forged this time. It's a minor weight gain and it's possible that it has a similar rotational moment as 437M depending on where that weight lies.
763M is not really like 220M at all. 763s are basically aftermarket M Performance wheels, not factory wheels, more expensive, and I have seen zero on the road.
The take rate for 220M was high. I couldn't find a car on the lot with the 18s back when I was looking. 220M is exactly the analogous wheel to 437M. Did you forget there are 18s for F80?
I hate the 220M though. Almost as bad as E60 M5 wheels.
