B58 is twin scroll turbo, single exhaust manifold equals one downpipe and a single exhaust track. S55 is two turbos, two downpipes and two separate exhaust tracks. The exhausts are distinctly different. There is a 99% chance the pictured vehicle has an S55 engine and that it sounds just like the M3/4. Which makes me very happy. If they switch over the S55 after 1.5 model years, I will quite happily accept being the owner of a now limited M car, noted as being the first truly great M car of its generation, and the best sounding. More likely, it's an end of lifecycle special model and heralds the end of the current 1 and 2 series chassis.
