LIDAR detection gets you fuck-all anyway. About 95% of the time, if you get hit by LIDAR, the police have your speed. It doesn't "bounce" the same way radar does, so your chances of picking up LIDAR when a different car is being targeted are pretty low.
If a car in front or next to and in front of you gets shot, you might pick up a stray edge of the beam, but it will depend on distance from the LEO. You'll still have to suffer from the thing going off at other cars' laser cruise systems and flickering LEDs and other garbage.
I have LIDAR turned off entirely on my V1... but I also use a dedicated lidar jammer.
