And carbon fiber trash isn't a diet, most of the parts replaced by carbon are pretty light anyway, plastic, or aluminum in many cases. If you want light, you're going to have to work for it, from the ground up.

YUP Elise works, so does my 2017 Miata RF.
The Elise's tub is tough to get into and out of but you wear it like a glove. I've driven and instructed in several of them including a SC and turbo...
So its the complete opposite. Its a track car that can be used on the street, but
Its got lots of issues as a dual use car...
I always found it special it competed against C6 Vettes is the SS Class for Solo 2. A nimble kart it is!
