Sort of, you have to do some serious high temp powder coat to get it to last if you will track or anything, which is doable, and you are right a lot cheaper in the end. But pulling apart the brakes, having the car down for a few weeks, rebuilding the entire assemblies after, etc. Not totally simple to do right. If the powdercoater screws up on of the assemblies, not cheap either (if you can't get them to take liability which can be tougher to prove than you'd hope). So while "cheaper", not cheap.
