It works just fine. There are two variables involved for folding.
1) fold with comfort access/fob: on/off
2) closing sequence delay: in seconds
I set my delay to zero. Even with zero delay I still can close the doors without folding the mirrors if I want. To fold the mirrors you would just hold your finger on the door handle for a second more or keep the fob button pressed for a second more.
For unfolding you have two options:
1) unfold with unlock: yes/no
2) unfold speed threshold: in Km/Hr
I tried unfold with unlock and immediately disliked it because I often unlock the car without actually getting in to drive somewhere and then lock it back up which causes unnecessary unfolding and folding.
Instead I just lowered the unfolding speed threshold to the lowest possible speed which is 3 kilometers per hour and that works out great for me.
