I have opposite circumstance and share the same take away. I've owned an M240 for 3.5 years and have test driven the M2 and M2C on several occasions. I prefer the M2/M2C over the M240 for all the reasons stated by the OP. Unfortunately for me the M2 was not out yet when I was looking for a new car and the wait list was reportedly 1 year. I wish I would've waited...
