Innsbruck, like so many towns and smaller cities in Europe, based on our somewhat extensive travel there, is way more pedestrian friendly (and occupied) than is typical in the USA.

When we get to towns in Europe, we park, and go where we need to go on foot, bus, tram, whatever. Whether Rothenburg ob der Tauber (a walled medieval town in Germany) or Strasbourg (capital city of the Alsace), park your car on arrival and become a pedestrian.

We loved our time in Innsbruck; maybe the nicest breakfast room of any place we have ever stayed.

Regarding ED for anybody who's not yet done this, we're doing so for the first time in less than a month, and we booked our lodging with priority given to the places that offer parking on site (and most at no extra cost). It's a different mindset when you're going to be driving your own new (M!) car vs. a rental.
