I brought mine in today and was able to reproduce the sound for the head tech. He heard it and agreed "wow that really does sound like a can crunching!"

He immediately ruled out the diff saying the problem with the diffs over summer didnt sound like this.

What he told me was I had small small rocks in the rear brake ducts area. Told me they will lodge against the shields and rub against things and sound all crazy.

They cleaned everything out and installed mesh guards. Picked it up and couldn't reproduce the noise. Drove 50 miles, slow turns nothing out the back. So I will keep trying and see if this was in fact the issue. Seems so though, I am optimistic it was.
Can you please show or explain us what your dealer did and what they installed? I feel that if we ask dealers to do this to more cars here we can solve this issue.

Mine is going in on the 7th so I can easily ask my dealer to do this to solve the issue. They maybe even can make a bulletin about it and share it across the world.

Perhaps we can ask any dealer to do this so that it helps the community!
