If it's rocks why is it always just a split second noise and not a constant scraping as the wheel spins around? It's often days between when the sound appears, if it's a rock stuck wouldn't you hear it until it's removed? You can see from the video's the roads are gravel free and smooth so i can't see where these stones are jumping up from.
It may not be the diff as you say but it's something other than stones imo.
