I can see where the concern comes from. I could go either way. I don't mind the removal if it presents significant weight savings. I would just argue that the amount of weight they saved is not significant enough to warrant the removal of the sound deadening. It's obvious why they removed it, though. One, it saves them money. Two, it drops just enough to get them below 3500 with 6MT and hopefully take less of a beating in the reviews over weight.
