I don't get whats wrong about having a beater vehicle as a daily. I love the hell out of my M2, but I don't like driving it everyday. Too many people not paying attention going to/from work kinda saps the enjoyment out of it. So does sitting in traffic, racking up tons of miles, and bad mpg. I would have a nice beater so at least you're in a decent car and folks don't think they are better than you just because their car is nicer. So maybe a slightly older Lexus or Acura if you want something reliable but that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
