The French saying "Reculer pour mieux sauter" means "Stepping back (to prepare) for a better jump".
So:
- first BMW shows the 2-Series GC, giving us an idea of future design, polarizing the petrolhead community;
- subsequently BMW unwraps the M2 CS, graciously bidding farewell to the 'oldskool' design, and the petrolhead community is at peace again.
