If you have the $$ just get what you like. What is bad is the maintenance on older cars. Rubber ages and after 10 years all the bushings, shocks and seals are not up to spec. If you want a older car to drive like new it will cost $$ and prepare to spend more.

I had a X50 996 turbo and I wasn't a big fan. It wheel hopped like crazy and my old lancer evolution MR was actually a better handling car. At 54k budget I'd rather sport a full warranted M2, Focus RS, audi RS3, new z4/supra or maybe Fords GT350R coming to Detroit.
