it's pretty typical for dealerships to unplug dash cams in my area, especially when the car is going into their service area. I don't assume the worst in the employees, just respect that they deserve some privacy when they work.
Even something as simple as an inappropriate joke with a colleague can be taken out of context and blown out of proportion by dash cam footage.
