What you really need is a manual driver's seat and powered passenger seat, then the kids can get out the passenger side and not disturb your setup
Europeans might be able to trade their manual seats with Americans who only get powered seats to make this "optimal" configuration happen for everyone
Or ya know BMW could just give us powered seats that go lower
Preferably ones that look like the m3 competition package.
