Very interesting that they went from the ZF8 to the DCT and finally from N55 to S55 engine. I wonder if the endurance drivers will start seeing reliability issues with a true twin-turbo setup. Still cool to see such close alignment now between the street and race cars! As a M240i owner, it was kind of weird to see a M240i Racing with the N55 engine...

They simply use the transmission that comes on the car the "racing" version is based on. The M235 and M240 street cars use the 8AT and so does their racing version. The M2 and M4 use a 7-DCT and so do their respective racing versions.
