I haven't seen anything published by BMW stating a 30 second over boost. The only thing I could find stated that over boost occurs from 1450 - 4750 rpm which means if you're winding out the engine to redline, you're only getting a few seconds of over boost. The N55B30T0's over boost is modeled after the N54B30T0, so it is only available in certain conditions and gears.
