Be aware that if you move it to another car you are also screwed, because the display will show the wrong figures if you move it to another car. It needs a reset done via the USB cable and a PC.

By "move it to another car" do you mean some other model?
Thankfully not planning on doing that. (I'm happy with my N55)
I don't see why it wouldn't work fine with a 1:1 swap into another N55 car though... it's just reading data from CAN / OBD2, no? And I'm fairly sure there's a way to reset it to default from within the car as well.
I have a USB cable plugged into it, but I don't know if I saved a copy of their reprogramming software anywhere (I believe they did release something to update firmware at one point...)
