Off topic: possible that some won't even make it to retirement. Have a look here: an Italian from the Lombardy region quickly compares the local obituaries of 9 February 2020 with those of 13 March 2020. No need to understand Italian to get the message. He begins by saying "Hello dear friends, this [message] merely to give you an idea of how we are [doing]". He ends by cynically saying: "A simple flu. Thanks."
Learning from the past: back in 1918 patriotic parades were scheduled to be held in St. Louis and Philadelphia. Because of the Spanish flu pandemic, St. Louis canceled the event. Philadelphia decided to go ahead. The consequences: see
