Got the M2 M Performance Exhaust and can recommend it.
True that it comes at a price, but you get some benefits that most aftermarket tuners cannot offer:
- sounds very good (deep growl, rather than high pitched rasp or questionable fart can sounds);
- open and close valves with a remote control ('track mode' vs 'sport mode');
- BMW quality (no 'limp mode' issues, as some reported about their third party aftermarket exhaust);
- you get BMW guarantee for the part;
- you don't void the BMW car warranty;
- you get a BMW document confirming that it's an official BMW part (which you can show to whom it may concern if need be: car inspection, police, etc.);
- better influence on future car resale value than with a third party aftermarket exhaust.
Here's a clip of a friend doing a series of pulls with my car to show the different modes. Static display, no cold start. Try to imagine how it sounds with a cold start, or when warmed up and under load.
