That's exactly what I did when I negotiated the price for my car back in April 2006. BMW dealers were not negotiating any deals on the "new" 3-series back then (and the economy was good too). So they gave the BS that the "free" maintenance was worth something like $1,800 (if you got brakes - LOL). I said I do all my own maintenance and don't need to prepay for maintenance. The SA replied, "If it's free, why would you go to the trouble..." I whipped out a pic of my E30 sitting on my lift. He took $900 off the price, without a hitch. And I was ordering the car, not buying one off the lot.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
