I have a couple of friends who in 2016 wanted to order both of their M2s in Sunset Orange Metallic. Even though the M2 is built in the same factory in Leipzig as the 2 Series, which is available in Sunset Orange Metallic, they could not get it in that color. These are long-time BMW people who have ordered Individual BMWs, including Ms, in the past. They were told that even though BMW sprayed 2 Series in that color in the same factory, that they weren't equipped for Individual orders. This is still the case.
Don't hold your breath for an Individual M2. M2s also sell like hotcakes, so there's no incentive to offer Individual paint.
