That's a close call...because of varying tracks and temps my observations are purely subjective. I felt the R7 was slightly faster when fresh but fell off a lot quicker than R1. The R1 withstood many more heat cycles. The real preference for the R1 is that it comes in 265/35 and fits like a glove without rubbing. The R7 is only available in 275/35 and I had to do more with spacers and ride height to avoid rubbing with high compression.
