Richland's gold isn't an imitation at all, it's single stage powder coat IIRC. The factory Frozen Gold is a 3-stage paint:
1. dark primer
2. silver (which is then lightly polished)
3. clear gold
4. semi-gloss clear
Because of the process itself, the Frozen Gold finish really is in a class of its own.
The gold RF wheels look fantastic though. I'm sure Lyle will give you several samples if you ask, he's great to deal with.
