Another opinion here. re71rs are autox tires, not track day tires.

On a track RE71r's get up to temp very quickly and the soft grippy compound is fast.... for 5-6 hard laps before it drops off a cliff. they get very hot, very quickly and become super greasy. A short rest in between sessions and they are good to go again, heat cycling doesn't seem to be a significant problem. However, the real problem with the re71rs is in the 200 wear rating lie. You are looking at 4-5 track days out of a set before you hit cord. they wear as fast, maybe even faster than r-compounds and 60 wears!

If you are an advanced or even high-intermediate driver your milage will NOT vary - I've tried these tires on numerous cars including my m2c, I like them, just I don't like what heat does to them. I just killed a set and replaced them with yoko ad08rs, Ill run them this weekend, but I had wanted to get the hankook rs-4s but no 255/35.
