I don't get it either. It costs several hundred bucks, right? Doesn't look any different than mine and you don't need the surface protection compared to when you would apply it to paint. There is probably a fair chance you dry out the Xpel or otherwise affect the film that might make it more difficult to remove. Totally better than having matte paint! The result is maintenance free!
