I used the same hitch and wiring as described by DrKev. The M Performance Exhaust needed some tweaking with the heat shields, but was still straightforward. I went with a 4X6 Carry-On trailer from the local Trailer Plus dealer. To my surprise, the M2 has a 3,500 lb towing capacity. I've always waned a tire trailer but also wanted minimal stuff in the car if I had one.
To help carry more, I bought 2 48" X 20" boxes from Tractor Supply. I now know the same boxes, "Better Built", can be bought through WalMart to save some cash. I put one box in the front and one i the rear with the autox tires in between. I left room for potentially larger tires down the road.
I used a 2x4 platform to raise the tires enough [o fit as desired, With the two boxes all tools, clothes etc have room, and are out of the car and elements. There's about a foot of so more room at the end of the trailer for a bike.
Weights 700 to 800 lbs with tongue weight at about 80 lbs. Very easy pull.
