Another example is the intercooler. BMW use the shittiest intercooler possible, its not because their engineers cant figure out how to get one that works, its because they want to save money.
Im not getting into an argument about dry vs oil filters, there are hundreds of pages about it.
Im just saying your argument that if its not there then its bad is not valid
