My 718 CGTS pulls hard, and doubt I could appreciate any difference if it pulled a 3.6 versus 4.0 sec 0-60 time? Not sure if the M2C or 718 CGTS pulls a faster 0-60 time, but I can tell you the M2C FEELS like it pulls harder.

On the other hand, my eyes and heart light up when my GTS is pulling through a turn or long curve. That is where the car earns what I paid for it.

This gets me to the GT4. NA flat 6 is going to absolutely howl. The sound alone significantly elevates one’s driving experience. Is it better or worse than the 718 GTS in terms of actual performance? Not sure, but I know what that NA flat 6 does when it comes to perceived performance.

M2CS versus GT4? Realistically, appears we are looking at a $40K price difference, minimum. That cannot be ignored for nearly anyone. I can float $80K for M2CS, but a big ‘no-go’ for a $120K GT4.

Price aside . . . forget it, you cannot ignore the price. I am going with the M2CS all day and night. The truth is, however, if I am going with M2 model, then it is going to be the M2C. Now we are talking an approximate $60K price difference (half the GT4).

I said it before, and I will say it again, you are going to be hard pressed to find more performance for the money than you get the M2C. Do not need to drive the M2CS, just give me the M2C. . . BMW can keep all the carbon fiber parts.

I got to test drive the 718 GTS this weekend - my local P car dealer has a sweet 2018 CPO that I went to check out. Having had a 981 CS (and with a F80 and OG M2 in the garage currently), I was really interested to see how the 718 GTS stacked up.

Wow - I was really impressed. The car felt so small and nimble compared to the F80 (obviously ) but it also sounded pretty good to my ears. Does it have the high pitched wail of the F6 in the 981? No, but I think it sounds good in its own right, and was definitely quicker than my old Cayman. I would say that it didn't have the extreme grunt of the S55, but felt quicker than the OG M2 we have.

The PDK is still the best transmission I have ever driven - the thing is just so fast, up or down. And to your point, the car just LOVES going around corners. I used to get such a kick out of driving the 981, even at lower speeds, and the 718 felt even sharper. I am really, really tempted to get one....
