I have the 5000SLX and it is the right size for the M2 and E36 3-series but for many other vehicles I do have to use the frame extensions which I bought afterwards. You are better off without needing the frame extensions because they do increase the minimum height, I've had to make small wooden ramps for 1 vehicle to sit on so I can slide the SLX + extensions under the jack points.

Thanks. I measured the E83 and it is right in the middle of the SLX's range. No where close to needing the EXT when it comes to the E83.
