Maybe not completely applicable but I had 255/19's on stock 437s all around on my F80 M3. Nokian R2. Obviously you lose dry traction but never had a problem in snow. I'm not driving through unplowed roads very often but even when I've had to go through hilly areas with snow on the ground, the car feels great. Helped braking and cornering too versus my AWD car with all seasons. Driving about 5,000 miles each winter.
As long as you aren't driving through deep snow, an aggressive winter tire like the Nokians will get you through.
