There is a knurled screw that tightens the plate bracket to the rear bracket behind the grill. Unscrew it completely and remove bracket (which just hangs).
Trickiest part for me was dropping the bracket behind the grill. You have to hold it when screwing/unscrewing it, or it's easy to fall off behind the grill (after which you need tiny fingers to fish it out).
I like the fact that when you remove the front plate, there is no bracket left behind.
Really like this mount, have never loved tow hook mounts due to the offset nature.
