Has anyone with an OG or LCI successfully upgraded to full screen Carplay?
I've seen
this thread going in the Competition subforum and others like it elsewhere on the web where you can upgrade your Apple Carplay to full screen by having your iSTA software updated to NBTevo_N, O or P and then having the Carplay ini file modified either through eSys or by a 3rd party. I hear they're charging $100-$200 on average to do it remotely.
To check if you have the correct iSTA update: Go to the map screen, press the options button on the idrive controller, select
Navigation Settings > Position and Version > Version Information. If it says NBTevo_N, O or P + some numbers, for example NBTevo_O18153l - then you can get the update.
I'd love to figure out a way to do this without having to pay a 3rd party by using Bimmercode or some other method.
